So, Megan Fox is a potential...
To play Buffy, anyway.

BIG NO. I don't like her, in general. To have her play Buffy would make me want to stake myself.

If I could cast anyone in this movie (assuming they're using the same characters as the original film), here's who would be on my list.

Buffy - Kristen Bell, Dianna Agron, Adrianne Palicki, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Emma Bell, Ellen Page, Katie Cassidy, Rachel McAdams, Emma Watson

Pike - I actually can't decide on anyone for this. It's too easy to just list the guys from Supernatural. Let's move on and not do that.

Merrick - JP Manoux, Ralph Fiennes, Hugo Weaving, John Cusack... and because my DH suggested it.... Tommy Lee Jones. Or, if you like the irony? Christian Slater. Why not? It could be fun.

And since I'm probably not shutting up about this movie anytime soon, here's my DNW list.

Buffy - Megan Fox, Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Reese Witherspoon, Emily Osment, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato
Pike - Chad Michael Murray, any guy that's been a main cast member on a Disney channel show, Michael Cera (I just can't see him in this role)
Merrick - Judd Nelson, Matt Dillon, Keanu Reeves

I want this new Buffy to be crazy dark, like even darker than season six of the show. I want Buffy to get off on murdering some vamps and then she and Pike can like do it in the graveyard, even though he's kind of scared of her because SHE'S A KILLER.

Have you ever seen John Carpenter's Vampires? The first nest they take on, where they're pulling vampires into the sunlight with grappling hooks, and they've got a whole team and a priest?
I want something like that. Obviously not an entire team, but I think my favorite scene in the series is when Riley leaves Buffy in the alley, and she's suddenly surrounded by seven or eight vampires and takes them all out by herself because she's pissed off.
But I want this Buffy to have a life outside of slaying. She has to pay for food and bills somehow, and it's too fairy tale for her to have a wealthy watcher.

I want him to be Pike, too. But I felt like saying it would be too obvious.

Well, I was actually talking to a friend of mine last night and we were thinking maybe Joseph Gordon-Levitt. But that's mostly because we were listening to his cover of Major Tom.

I mostly added Keanu to my list of DNWs for Merrick because I've made it clear over the last few years that I love him and I hate the way everyone mocks him, but I can't see him as Merrick. I'm not just playing favorites.

I really do love the idea of Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Buffy. We've seen that she can kick ass, and I feel that we're past the idea of making the diminutive blonde girl turn out to be a hero instead of a victim. I mean, I appreciate what Joss was trying to do, and it was great for the series. But now it's almost become a cliche.

You're right, it would be a little odd seeing a non-blonde Buffy. But I feel like it wouldn't be the worst thing. The worst thing would be someone cast just for the box-office draw.

Over the last couple of days, I've started to really like the idea of Emma Bell as Buffy. If you're unfamiliar with her, she's the girl that worked in the bar with Sam in season five, when he told her his name was Keith. She's short, blonde, and has green eyes. She's currently in The Walking Dead on AMC and she's doing Final Destination 5. I feel like she could handle it, and she's not very well known - which I sort of prefer.

I haven't even seen the series, but I keep hearing that I need to watch. So I'll be doing that today. I just have this whole zombie hatred thing.

I did give in and watch Zombieland, and I loved it. I think my biggest issue is the gore. I don't like gore.

I'll try to deal. I've had at least four people tell me to watch, so I figure I should. Peer pressure, for the win.

Your DNW list made me shiver! Ugh. I really hope no one's so stupid as to cast with anyone on it, lol.

I'm scared that they're going to focus on big names instead of talent.
